Benhur Abalos Joins Liga in Presenting Term Adjustment Proposal to Speaker Romualdez and Cong. Sandro Marcos

The Liga ng mga Barangay sa Pilipinas (LnB), through its National Executive Board (NEB), expressed its deep gratitude to former DILG Secretary Atty. Benhur Abalos for joining the presentation of the proposed barangay term adjustment to House Speaker Martin Romualdez and Congressman Sandro Marcos.

Atty. Abalos, who once served as head of the Department of the Interior and Local Government, has long been a steadfast advocate for barangay officials. His presence during the presentation reaffirmed his enduring commitment to strengthening grassroots governance and supporting the vital role of barangays in nation-building.

“Atty. Benhur deeply understands the situation and challenges faced by barangay officials, which is why his unwavering support and assistance to the Liga mean so much,” the Liga said in a statement.

The proposal, which seeks to extend the terms of barangay and SK officials, is currently under deliberation in Congress. With the support of leaders like Atty. Abalos, alongside Speaker Romualdez and Congressman Marcos, the Liga remains hopeful that the measure will be prioritized and enacted into law.
