Liga ng mga Barangay Explores Partnership with U.S. Embassy in the Philippines

The Liga ng mga Barangay sa Pilipinas, led by National President Jessica Dy, held a meeting with representatives from the U.S. Embassy in the Philippines to strengthen collaboration between the diplomatic mission and barangays across the country. The Embassy was represented by Fraud Prevention Manager Martin Ryan, Deputy Fraud Prevention Manager Casey O’Neil, and Fraud Investigator Jane Armendi.
One of the key proposals discussed was the establishment of a Barangay–Consular Partnership Communication Channel, which would provide barangays with a direct line for validating information and accessing consular services. This initiative is envisioned to help barangay officials assist constituents more efficiently, particularly in cases involving fraud prevention, documentation, and other embassy-related concerns.
The dialogue also opened doors for future collaborations, including relief operations, seminars, and training programs that would equip barangay leaders with skills and resources to better serve their communities.
The Liga expressed its gratitude to the U.S. Embassy for its time and openness to building meaningful partnerships, reaffirming that closer cooperation will strengthen both local governance and international community engagement at the grassroots level.
