President Jessica Dy Guests on GNN’s Sa Barangay Tayo

Liga ng mga Barangay sa Pilipinas National President Jessica Dy appeared on the program Sa Barangay Tayo of GNN News and Public Affairs, where she shared updates on the Liga’s flagship programs and advocacies for grassroots governance.

Pres. Dy discussed the Barangay Sisterhood Program, which fosters partnerships between high-income and low-income barangays to help address shared challenges through cooperation and resource-sharing. She likewise underscored the importance of unity among local Liga chapters, emphasizing that a stronger collective voice ensures that the concerns of barangay officials are heard at the national level.

A major focus of the interview was the Liga’s continued push for the Magna Carta for Barangays, a measure aimed at granting greater recognition, benefits, and institutional support for barangay officials. Pres. Dy also explained the Liga’s Petition-in-Intervention, filed against the petition of Atty. Romulo Macalintal, which questions the constitutionality of Republic Act 12232 or the Term Adjustment Law. She noted that the Liga’s petition is not only a defense of the law but also a safeguard to ensure continuity in leadership and provide barangay officials the opportunity to implement long-term projects that benefit their communities.
